Slotted Hex Nuts
A slotted hex nut, or castle nut, is a hex nut with radial slots and a cotter-pin hole so a split pin locks the nut onto a drilled bolt or axle. The pin stops the nut from backing off in service.
Used on axles, spindles, steering joints and bearing assemblies that need positive mechanical locking. Bought by vehicle, agricultural and industrial equipment builders.
