A machine screw with a spring-loaded or gravity wing that folds to pass through a drilled hole and opens behind the wall. The opened wing spreads the load across the back of the hollow surface.
Used to fasten fixtures to hollow walls and ceilings where only the front surface is accessible. Bought by contractors and installers for hanging heavier items on drywall.
