Spikes are large-diameter nails, 10d and larger, used where high shear strength and long embedment are required. They are made from heavy-gauge wire with a large head and smooth or ring shank.
Used in heavy timber construction, log homes, and large framing connections. Bought by timber frame and log home builders.
