Self-Drilling Screws
A self-drilling screw has a fluted drill point that bores its own pilot hole, followed by a tapping thread that forms the mating thread in one pass. The shank carries a machine screw thread sized to the metal thickness it is meant to fasten.
It fastens sheet steel, cladding, purlins, steel studs and metal roofing without pre-drilling. Steel building erectors, panel installers and HVAC duct fitters specify it for fast on-site assembly.
